This morning saw the unveiling of all new elements of the Jardín de las Delicias festival in 2022, during an event in the auditorium of the Casa del Lector of MATADERO MADRID. Music in Spanish will return to the Complutense University of Madrid with more force and energy than ever.
But Madrid will not be the only stage of this long-awaited return: Jardín de las Delicias will hit the road with Endesa, its new sustainable sponsor, to take the spirit of the festival across the country this spring.
Barcelona, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Seville, Tenerife and Zaragoza will host the Endesa Jardín de las Delicias tour in the coming months, six events with music in Spanish as the protagonist. The first stop will be Seville on 19 March, at Terraza Casino with a gig by POL 3.14 and a DJ session by Mickey Pavón. The details about dates and artists in the other cities will be announced very soon.
Pedro Martínez, as representative of Jardín de las Delicias, has expressed the excitement of sharing the essence of a festival with other cities. With only two past editions, it has already carved itself a spot in Madrid's cultural scene, an unmissable event for thousands of people in the month of September. Two other new elements have also been shared: light as the protagonist of all concerts and magic in large experiential format, with Jorge Blas.
On behalf of Endesa, its Brand and Sponsorship Director, María Lacasa, stated that "through music, we intend to reach a younger and wider audience. Music is universal entertainment, which is enjoyed at any time in life, linked to positive feelings and emotion. The Jardín de las Delicias festival is the perfect companion to start this musical journey. We loved its philosophy and its way of understanding music. Not only will you listen to music, you will live a unique experience.
Lacasa also stressed that "at Endesa, we have been working on sustainability for many years and we are going a long way to achieve fair energy transition. Music and festivals are no exception. We will be reducing plastics, giving a second life to the waste generated, carrying out electric mobility initiatives and supplying energy from renewable sources".
Pedro Martínez has emphasised how committing to sustainability is committing to a long-term goal: "The Jardín de las Delicias festival is taking this step fully aware of its meaning, and Endesa is, without a doubt, due to its experience in this area, a perfect ally to implement these initiatives and become a sustainable and environmentally friendly cultural event".
Additionally, the festival and Endesa want to hear from the public, to involve them in everything that happens not only in the festival but also in the world of culture. To this end, they are launching Endesa Music Lover, a digital community on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, which will become a meeting point for all those who love music, theatre, culture and who also believe in a world and a future of sustainability and inclusion.
The event was also attended by the conceptual artist Pablo Méndez, creator of the fantasy world experience offered by the festival from the time its doors open, with performances, fantastic characters and happenings. A key part of the festival's identity since its first edition and that will also be the protagonist in the tour presented today.
The return of Jardín de las Delicias would not be complete without live music. On this occasion, the choice fell on 84, a well-known band among festival-goers since they witnessed its successful return to the stages after its separation years ago. This year's line-up also includes big names such as Leiva, IZAL, Rozalén, Miss Caffeina, Nil Moliner, Marlon, Dani Fernández, Álvaro de Luna, Veintiuno and Maren. More confirmations will be added in the coming months.
