Endesa will support the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF) at the European Women's Wheelchair Basketball Championship held from 4 to 12 December in Madrid.
The championship will bring together the six best teams on the continent and the top four finishers will get a ticket to the Dubai World Cup in 2022. Spain will face Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Turkey.
This European will see the debut at the head of the team by Adrián Yáñez, coach of Bidaideak Bilbao, winner of the Division of Honour League last season. The 12 players picked by Adrián Yáñez are Gabriela Michell Navarro (Amivel), Almudena Montiel and Virginia Pérez (Amiab Albacete), María Heras (UNES Fc Barcelona), Sara Revuelta (Ilunion), Beatriz Zudaire, Isabel De Jesús López, Lourdes Ortega, Sonia Ruiz and Victoria Alonso (UCAM Murcia) and Agurtzane Egiluz and Naiara Rodríguez (Vital Zuzenak Foundation).
Endesa is celebrating eleven years of support for Spanish basketball, with more than ten seasons as a naming sponsor for the Endesa League, collaborating with the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), the National Teams and the Endesa Women's League and, since 2018, a total commitment to basketball together with the FEDDF. This has involved Endesa extending its sponsorship strategy with a purpose, which seeks to accompany society in projects that add to values like hard work, teamwork and equal opportunities. Working in conjunction with institutions, with the FEDDF in favour of integral sustainability that goes beyond the environment and that involves working for a healthy, fairer society that leaves no one behind.
