Minicopa Endesa: a renewed boost
Once again, Endesa is celebrating the Minicopa Endesa, a parallel tournament featuring the top eight youth teams in Spain. Year after year, this championship gains significance by combining competition with player development, shaping the next generation of basketball stars while upholding the sport’s finest values. Additionally, the Minicopa Endesa has become the ultimate showcase for Spain’s emerging basketball talent.
This year’s tournament will feature Barça, Joventut Badalona, Unicaja Andalucía, and Gran Canaria in Group A, while Real Madrid, Valencia Basket, Casademont Zaragoza, and Cajasiete Canarias will compete in Group B. A must-see for Basketball Lovers
The Copa del Rey is set to be an unforgettable experience, packed with activities both on and off the court. Endesa has prepared something truly special for fans. On Saturday, at halftime of the second semifinal, Nena Daconte will deliver a special performance at Gran Canaria Arena, courtesy of Endesa and Movistar. Then, on Sunday, during the grand final, Andy y Lucas will bring the event to a spectacular close with their music. Meanwhile, the Endesa space at the Movistar Fan Zone will host daily sessions by Canarian DJs to add to the tournament’s vibrant atmosphere and reinforce Endesa’s commitment to supporting and showcasing local talent.
This blend of sports and entertainment provides an added value that Endesa has spearheaded to turn major events like the Copa del Rey into unforgettable experiences. The journey began in Granada 2022’s cup, followed by Coti’s spectacular performance in 2023, and continued in 2024 with La La Love You and DJ Nano in Málaga, as well as Marlena at the Copa de la Reina in Huelva - each time with sold-out arenas.
Social commitment and meaningful initiatives
Beyond basketball, Endesa remains committed to supporting initiatives with a great social impact. In collaboration with Unoentrecienmil, Endesa will join the fight against childhood cancer by supporting the ‘Canastas Contra el Cáncer Infantil’ (Basketball Against Childhood Cancer) initiative during the event. Additionally, on Wednesday afternoon, the Liga Endesa de Corazón will host a special meeting between Endesa League players and children from the SUMA Gran Canaria Project. The children will have the chance to ask the players questions, emulating professional journalists and actively engaging in the event. These initiatives underscore Endesa’s commitment to using sports as a means to promote values, solidarity, and social well-being.
Movistar Fan Zone Experiences
The Endesa area at the Movistar Fan Zone will be packed with surprises, including a giant ball pit where visitors can dive in and search for amazing prizes. Basketball hoops will be set up for shooting contests, with prizes for the lucky winners. Entertainment will be available throughout the day, including basketball classes led by Coach Darío, who will invite everyone to learn more about the sport in a fun way. On Friday, fans will be able to enjoy a special Live-Painting session, where attendees can customise basketballs, trainers, and other sports equipment.
