Historias Basket Lover opens up the popular vote to find its winner

• The public's participation will decide which project will be awarded 6,000 euros.
• Endesa will distribute a total of 13,000 euros among all the finalist stories.

Historias Basket Lover reaches the final stretch. After getting an in-depth look at the five finalists' experiences, the public will be in charge of choosing the winner, which will receive a cash prize of €6,000 to continue promoting basketball as a driver of positive social and environmental change. Voting is open through until 17 May at 2 p.m.

All the stories are winners thanks to Endesa, which has earmarked a total of €13,000 to be distributed among the finalists. This ACB-backed Endesa initiative featured five very special realities that have shown that basketball can be a lever for improvement in our society in very different ways. You will remember them:

• El Basket es Vida (Basketball is Life). Zaragoza was the first stop and together with Alberto Béjar and Basket es Vida we discovered a unique solidarity initiative: refurbishment of the corridor in the children's oncology area of the Miguel Cervet Maternity and Children's Hospital. A special project dedicated to being there for the little ones and their families at all times.
• Jump the Line. Ane and her colleagues from Jump the Line used their talent, youth and creativity to renovate a court in Txagorritxu, one of Vitoria's oldest neighbourhoods, and the project is a commitment to the renovation of public space as a basis for sustainable community growth.
• La Vall d’Uixó Bàsquet. Halfway through, we visited La Vall d'Uixó, a small town in Castellón, where we discovered the local club and Eduardo, a tireless worker. To combat the lack of facilities, they set about rehabilitating an old lorry workshop and converted it into a basketball court.
• Academia 675. Manuel gave up everything so that his daughter Marina, who has a rare disease, could continue playing basketball. In their efforts, they met Berni Rodríguez, a unique companion with whom, in Academia 675, they share dreams and an ambition for the future: their own sports facilities.
• Ecoballution. The Historias tour ends in Galicia, where we met Carlos Martínez and Ecoballution. Carlos, formerly of TD Systems Baskonia, has turned his efforts to a sustainable twist on basketball, recycling fishing nets with the help of redeiras, women who repair the nets on boats so that they can go out fishing, thus giving a boost to the local economy.

Endesa celebrates 10 years as official sponsor of the Endesa League. Endesa also sponsors the Spanish Basketball Federation, Spanish EuroLeague and EuroCup teams and even the NBA, thus bolstering its commitment to and support for all basketball with a view to change and social evolution.
