- Members of Iberia's loyalty scheme will be able to collect Avios points not only if they are already Endesa customers but also if they register and buy new products.
Endesa and Iberia Plus become partners. From now on, Endesa customers and members of the Iberia loyalty programme can collect Avios, which they can use get discounts on flights and book other services such as hotel stays or car hire.
As a welcome offer, until 31 October Iberia Plus members will collect 9000 Avios when they take out an electricity contract with Endesa — the equivalent of an off-season return trip to a destination within Spain or to cities like Tangier, Lisbon or Geneva. In addition, they could collect a further 20,000 Avios by buying other products with Endesa.
Not only that, members of Iberia's loyalty scheme who are already customers of the energy supply company will receive 200 Avios as a welcome gift and 50 Avios every month if they link their Iberia Plus profile to their Endesa customer account.
Javier Uriarte, Endesa's General Manager of Marketing, says: "This agreement is another step forward in Endesa's global strategy to strengthen its position as a leader in customer acquisition and loyalty in an increasingly competitive and saturated market".
María Jesús López Solas, Iberia's Chief Customer Officer, explains: "Incorporating a large company like Endesa into Iberia Plus is great news for the customers of both companies. Their loyalty will be rewarded with Avios, which they'll be able to use buy flights from Iberia as well as other products or experiences. Together we are enriching the scheme's value proposition by giving the customer more opportunities to collect Avios on a daily basis".
In the words of Avios Chief Commercial Officer, Adam Daniels: "Incorporating Endesa into the Avios partner network is great news for all customers, who can now collect Avios from a wider range of products and services and use them for trips and leisure activities".
Iberia created its Iberia Plus scheme in 1990 to reward the loyalty of its top customers with flights and other exclusive benefits. Currently, the programme has more than 1.5 million active members and offers six types of card: Clásica, Plata, Oro, Platino, Infinita and Infinita Prime, plus Iberia Plus Kids for children between the ages of two and eleven.
