José D. Bogas Gálvez
Director, Endesa
Industrial Engineer (ICAI, 1978)
José D. Bogas Gálvez is currently a Director of Endesa, having completed his third term as the company's Chief Executive Officer and Iberia Country Manager for the Enel Group in April 2026.
Over his 44-year career at Endesa, including 12 years as Chief Executive Officer, he spearheaded the company’s transformation to maintain its leadership in the Spanish electricity sector by driving a strategic plan firmly focused on renewable energy, digitalisation, electrification of demand and energy efficiency.
During his final term, he served as Chairman of Enel Green Power España, S.L., Endesa Energía S.A. and Endesa Generación S.A. He was also a Director of Enel Iberia S.R.L., and served as Trustee and Vice-Chairman of the Endesa Foundation.
In the past, he played an active role in institutions linked to the Energy sector, including as a member of the Board of Directors of AELEC, Honorary Vice-Chairman and Board Member of the Club Español de la Energía, and member of the Honorary Committee of the 8th ICAI Engineers Congress. He has also held positions in a wide range of other institutions, including as Trustee of Fundación SERES, Fundación Integra, Fundación Teatro Real, Fundación ProCNIC, Real Instituto Elcano and Fundación Andalucía-América; member of AGFITEL, the Business Council for Sustainable Development of Forética, and the Honorary Committee of the ESG Spain 2026 Corporate Sustainability Forum. He served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Spain.
He received the Javier Benjumea Award (16th edition, ICAI, 2010) and the Tiepolo Award (25th edition, Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Spain and CEOE, 2022). In November 2023, he was inducted as a Full Member of the Academy of Social Sciences and the Environment of Andalusia. In October 2024, he received the Influyente Award in the Professional Career category from El Confidencial, and in June 2025 he was named Executive of the Year by Merca2. Most recently, Forbes España presented him with the Forbes Best Vision of the Future 2025 Award in January 2026 in Davos.
