Carrefour has become the new collaborating member of the Companies for Energy Efficiency platform in the distribution sector. The association, headed by Endesa, is an initiative that includes the most important private companies in their respective sectors, enabling them to establish themselves as market leaders in Spain in terms of energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint. The aim of the platform, formed in 2011, is to develop value proposals aimed at energy efficiency for society in general and includes members such as Cemex, Mango, Meliá, Philips, Renfe, Telefónica, Toyota and Unibail Rodamco.
Only one company per sector is accepted and a new collaborating member joins the group each year. This year the distribution sector has joined the association and Carrefour is the chosen company.
The platform has a series of values such as: energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint, an eminently practical approach that generates value for its associates and society in general, collaboration via forums to encourage interaction between member companies and other public and private entities.
The membership agreement was signed at Endesa’s Headquarters (founding board member) and was attended by Javier Uriarte Head of the General Sales Division at Endesa and Arturo Molinero Head of Human Resources at Carrefour.
