  • It is a publication of GOB-Mallorca, Grupo de Estudios de la Naturaleza GEN-GOB Ibiza, SOM-Sociedad Ornitológica de Menorca and GOB-Formentera.
  • Endesa, within the Company's Sustainability Plan, maintains its commitment to the environment with its 29 year collaboration in the publication of the Yearbook of the Balearic Group of Ornithology and Defence of Nature (GOB).
  • The presentation of the new volume, which was held in the lagoon of Es Forcadets, located within the Natural Park of the Albufera de Mallorca, was attended by the coordinator of the GOB, Antoni Muñoz, the head of the Ornithology area of the GOB, Manuel Suárez, and the general director of Endesa in the Balearic Islands, Martí Ribas.
  • In this edition, we must highlight the article "Població reproductora i tendència de l'àguila calçada Hieraaetus pennatus a Mallorca al 2020".

Endesa has renewed its collaboration with the publication of the 2020 Ornithological Yearbook of the Balearic Islands (volume 35), a support that, once again, shows Endesa's commitment to the environment and the preservation of nature and native species. The Company, within Endesa's Sustainability Plan in the Balearic Islands, maintains its constancy in this commitment, since it has been carrying out this collaboration for 29 years.

The presentation of the 35th volume of the Yearbook was held today at 12.00 pm in the lagoon of Es Forcadets, located within the Natural Park of the Albufera de Mallorca. 30 hectares of land located within the Natural Park of the Albufera de Mallorca, which was the subject of the signing of a Land Stewardship Agreement (ACT), signed by the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Fisheries of the Balearic Islands, Endesa and the GOB.

The lagoon is connected to a whole series of ditches and canals (the longest of which was dredged in 2016, being also one of the priority actions contemplated within the ACT), which has made it possible for the waters of the lagoon to be properly renewed and thus allow a greater presence of aquatic flora and fauna.

Today's presentation ceremony was attended by the coordinator of the GOB, Antoni Muñoz, the head of the Ornithology area of the GOB, Manuel Suárez, and the general director of Endesa in the Balearic Islands, Martí Ribas.

The 2020 Ornithological Yearbook of the Balearic Islands (volume 35), which after thirty-five years consolidates its work year after year, has an important scientific interest and prestige. Endesa is very pleased to renew this support due to the high quality and scientific importance of the Yearbook. With this collaboration, the Company reinforces its commitment to projects of great social impact and environmental preservation, with entities committed to the Balearic Islands.

Besides the usual ornithological records showing the ornithological activity of 2020, this year's edition also includes the articles "Població reproductora i tendència de l'àguila calçada Hieraaetus pennatus a Mallorca al 2020" and "Análisis bibliométrico del Anuari Ornitològic de les Balears (AOB) 1985-2019".

It is also worth mentioning the short notes "First record of Artic Warbler Phylloscopus borealis for the Balearics Islands", "Primera nidificació documentada de xoriguer petit Falco naumanni a l'illa de Mallorca" and "Proximitat entre nius de milana Milvus milvus, corb Corvus corax, àguila calçada Hieraaetus pennatus i aligot Buteobuteo a Mallorca", entre otras.

It is necessary to remember the prestige, within the scientific field, of the Ornithological Yearbook of the Balearic Islands, and the recognition it has received in previous years within the Latindex project, in the III Workshop on obtaining bibliometric indicators and scientific activity.
