What the installation process looks like
From signing up to plugging in your car for the first time: under 15 days.
Select your model and complete the sign-up process with a digital signature. No paperwork, no branch visits.
Within 24 hours, a certified installer will contact you to arrange a technical visit and assess the installation point.
An approved Endesa installer installs the charger for your electric car (Waybox EH5), sets up the electrical protections, and processes the mandatory certificate.
With the installer's help, you configure the eHome 5 app and you are ready to charge. The 30% discount on the fee is activated upon installation.
It is not just about convenience; it is the difference between paying €2 or €10 per 100 km.
To install an electric vehicle charging point, a 230/400 VAC power supply with grounding must be available, along with a general control and safety panel, and a metering device.
If there is no existing electricity supply point, you must request a new one from the local electricity supply company. To do this, you need to contact the supplier responsible for your area.
Each supplier defines its own procedure to follow. Once you have submitted the request, the supplier will send you the quote. Usually, no major electrical grid upgrades will be necessary, so you will only need to cover the costs of the new connection, which for a power capacity of 9.2 kW is approximately €350 plus VAT. However, sometimes the supplier may need to carry out additional work, for which they will provide a separate estimate. You can then decide whether to proceed or not.
If, after the purchase process is finalised, the installer visits your home and determines that installing a charging point is not feasible due to technical reasons beyond the buyer’s control, the order will be cancelled and any amount already paid for the installation of the charging point will be refunded.
If there is no 3G/4G mobile or Wi-Fi signal where you install your WayBox, you will not be able to use the app to control the unit or monitor your charging. Our technician will check the signal coverage and install an antenna if needed. If coverage is still insufficient even with an antenna, the WayBox will be set up in the most suitable mode to ensure proper functioning—either Connect & Charge, Unlock to Charge, or using only the RFID card.
Yes. Since 2019, the law has recognised the right of any owner to install a charging point in their communal parking space. You simply have to notify the president or property manager of the residents' association in writing – you do not need their approval or a vote at a residents' meeting. The installer will take care of the rest.
If your parking space is held under a concession agreement and the concessionaire has established a specific protocol, you must comply with the provisions of that protocol. For example, this is the case of residents of Madrid whose parking spaces are a municipal concession.
However, if the concessionaire has not established a specific protocol, it is sufficient to notify the concessionaire as stated in Article 17, point 5 of Law 49/1960, of 21 July, on Horizontal Property.
If this procedure is required, Endesa X will provide a template letter.
To choose the best tariff for an electric vehicle, you must consider not only the cost of the power rating but also the price of the energy.
Once you have signed up, the entire process (technical visit, installation, and registration) is usually completed in under 15 days. It is often quicker in a private garage. We coordinate everything for you: there's no need to find an installer or handle permits.
Yes. All models include the mandatory electrical installation certificate, which is the document you need to claim the 15% IRPF income tax deduction and for registration with the distribution company. They also include the mandatory electrical protections.
Yes. The Waybox EH5 is compatible with any battery electric vehicle (BEV) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), regardless of the make or model. It also works like any standard charger: it features a standard Type 2 connector with an integrated 5-metre cable.
In most cases, no. Installing the Waybox EH5 does not require any changes to your existing installation. It may be necessary to increase your contracted power if it is currently very low. The installer will assess this during the preliminary technical visit.
Yes. The 30% discount on the monthly fee (from €24.65 to €17.26) applies indefinitely as long as your Waybox EH5 installation contract with Endesa remains active. It is not a temporary promotion: it is a permanent contractual condition.
The Recarga en Casa Tariff is compatible with any home charger. You can sign up for the tariff without installing the Waybox. The 30% discount on the fee is exclusive to customers who install the Waybox EH5 with Endesa, but the tariff itself works with any wallbox.
Yes. Financing is available for the cost of the equipment and installation. Plus, remember that you can deduct 15% of the cost on your income tax return (saving up to €600 in tax). Check the financing conditions when signing up.
(*) With Endesa Energía’s "Recarga en Casa Tariff", for €0.8219/day excluding taxes, you will be entitled to up to 216.99 kWh for a standard 30-day billing period (equivalent to a charge of €31.35 including taxes in Mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, and €26.69 in the Canary Islands) for contracts entered into up to 14/07/2026. Any kWh consumed during a billing period in excess of the energy allowance included in the charge will be billed at the energy rate applicable to the "Recarga en Casa Tariff", with a 10% discount on the energy rate for the duration of the contract. In addition, and only for customers switching from electricity suppliers other than Endesa Energía, a further 10% discount will apply during the first year of the contract. The kWh included in the charge for each billing period may not exceed 60% of the total kWh consumed during that period. Any consumption above this 60% threshold will be billed at the "Recarga en Casa Tariff" energy rate, subject to any applicable discounts. Where the "Recarga en Casa Tariff" from Endesa Energía is contracted together with an Endesa X Way charging point, an indefinite 30% discount will be applied to the "Recarga en Casa Tariff" charge (equivalent to a charge of €21.95 including taxes in Mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, and €18.69 in the Canary Islands). For regulatory purposes, full consumption of the kWh included in the charge does not guarantee that all such consumption is attributable to charging your vehicle. The consumption figures used have been calculated in accordance with the IDAE methodology dated 19/05/2025, based on an average electric vehicle consumption of approximately 17.6 kWh per 100 km. Accordingly, 216.99 kWh per month would be equivalent to 1,250 km per month or 15,000 km per year. For the remaining terms and conditions, please visit www.endesa.com.
