Surpluses are the electricity produced by your photovoltaic installation and that are not self-consumed at the site of the installation. This surplus energy can be transferred to the grid to be used by other consumers.
If you have a tariff with compensation for surpluses, your electric company credits you in your electricity bill for the amount of energy transferred to the grid.

It is a product that enables you to accumulate the equivalent in euros of the kWh discharged into the grid by your installation and for which you have not been compensated in your monthly bill. If there is any amount left over after applying it to the next invoice, that remaining amount will be applied as a discount on future invoices*.
(The accumulated amount will depend on the consumption made, the production of the solar panel and the balance between surpluses and energy consumed from the grid).
*If there is any outstanding debt, the amount from the virtual battery would be used to offset this debt.
In the invoice for the same electricity supply point that comes immediately after the one that originates the balance, and if any still remains, also in the following one bills.
Yes. When the accumulated balance in the virtual battery is equal to or greater than the total amount for the invoice to which it is applied, then the amount to be paid will be equal to €0.
You will always be able to check the balances on the virtual battery through the invoices. There you can see both the balance generated in the invoice itself, and the amount generated in previous invoices that will apply as a discount on the invoice.
No. Only on bills where the amount of surpluses exceeds the amount of energy consumed from the grid. In this situation, the there is a limit to compensation limit and any amount that exceeds this will be incorporated into the virtual battery. This will be applied to payment of the net amounts for subsequent invoices.
The virtual battery service is completely free of charge and there are no registration or maintenance costs.
If you cancel your energy contract you lose any balance you may have accumulated.
If the balance for your virtual battery is greater than the amount for the subsequent invoice, it will only be deducted up to the total amount for the invoice, resulting in the total to be paid by the customer = €0. The rest will accrue for future billing periods. This means that the minimum you can pay for an invoice is €0.
