Encouraging activities of general interest to boost sustainable social development: that is the aim of the Endesa Foundation. This year marks its 20th anniversary and it is more active than ever, with different projects that follow four lines of action: job training, education, environment and culture.
Employability and equal opportunities
The Endesa Foundation works to improve employability and guarantee equal opportunities. Young entrepreneurial talent is boosted by different ventures and support is offered to people at risk of social exclusion to optimise their prospects to enter the job market. This kind of project, together with organisations such as Cáritas and the Circe Foundation, among many others, seeks to change lives by opting for inclusion.
The Endesa Foundation believes in the value of experience and for this reason has launched SAVIA, the platform that serves as a meeting point for unemployed professionals aged over 50 and organisations seeking talent.
Innovation in education and academic excellence
The Endesa Foundation grants, in addition to subsidies and university chairs in different Spanish and international universities, are aimed at talented students to encourage academic excellence.
Sustainability of the energy sector
In the last few years, the work of the Endesa Foundation has intensified in the environmental field by means of the search for energy efficiency, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact in the company’s industrial areas and re-establishing ecosystems. With the Awards for Educational Eco-innovation or the Endesa Educa programme, the youngest generations are trained on ecological culture.
Maintain and promote culture
For its part, culture is the most traditional line of action of the Endesa Foundation. It has always acted with the aim of maintaining and promoting Spain’s historic and artistic heritage since 1989, by means of the illumination of some of its most emblematic buildings.
It also boasts a historic collection, now also digitalised, which encompasses thousands of documents, photographs and videos that reveal the country’s modernisation over three centuries. The aim is to protect and make accessible the legacy we have bequeathed from Endesa.
Twenty years after its activities began, the Endesa Foundation stays firm in its quest to contribute to society’s progress and is still a paradigm of Endesa’s commitment to sustainable development.
