Distribution consists in distributing electricity to consumption points. The power grid directly supplies the distribution network from the large power plants and the distribution network allows electricity to reach consumers.
Endesa carries out this activity in Spain, where the activity is regulated.
At Endesa, we distribute electricity in 27 Spanish provinces and in 10 autonomous communities – Andalusia, Aragon, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Castile and Leon, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Extremadura, Galicia and Navarre - covering an area 194,687 km2, with a population in excess of 22 million. As of 31 December 2016, the total amount of power distributed by our grids exceeded 115,600 GWh, 1.2% more than last year.
There are 316.562 km in distribution and transmission networks and 115.602 GWh of energy distributed.
