Endesa is stepping up its research, technological development and innovation activities, focusing its strategy on energy efficiency and e-mobility.
Biodiversity conservation
Endesa promotes awareness and values regarding environmental protection, protecting endangered flora and fauna, and repopulating and conserving areas of special ecological value. It also sponsors forums and conferences on the environment.
Social initiatives
The cornerstone of Endesa's development in this area is social cooperation. This is based on building awareness of the needs of the communities where the company operates to contribute directly to their economic, social and environmental progress.
Endesa and education
Endesa works closely with universities and professional training centres to improve the learning environment. Additionally, the company is developing an important educational project on energy issues in Spain, Endesa Educa, and is included in the worldwide Educational Project of the Enel Group Play Energy.
New business projects
There are various plants currently under construction. These include the El Quimbo plant in Colombia and the Talara plant in Peru, while a number of large scale hydroelectric projects are also at the development stage.
Endesa and basketball
Endesa has become the leading promoter of Spanish basketball as sponsor of all officially organised ACB competitions and the Spanish national basketball team.
