Endesa Carbono
Endesa Carbono is a company that provides expertise in the international carbon market. The acquisition of Endesa by Enel has bolstered the leadership of the two companies in the CO2 market.
In 2010, the activity of identifying and developing CDM and JI projects for Endesa carried out by Endesa Carbono was incorporated into Enel’s new Carbon Strategy Unit , which has two fundamental priorities:
- To develop and implement the Group’s compliance strategy, minimising cost and limiting associated risks.
- To leverage opportunities in the burgeoning carbon market, taking into account the needs of third parties and making profitable investments with limited risk.
Within this framework, Endesa Carbono is tasked with the “origination” of projects within Enel’s Carbon Strategy Unit, i.e. with seeking out, identifying and developing projects.
