ENDESA HOLDS THE SECOND EDITION OF ITS NOVARE PRIZES FOR ENERGY R+D+i PROJECTS.
With these NOVARE prizes for the scientific community ENDESA’s aim is to encourage the investigative spirit in all energy-related matters within the international scientific community and help meet the needs of mankind in this area. ENDESA has therefore established four NOVARE prizes of Euro 500,000 each (Euro 2 billion in total), to finance Research and Development proposals for each of the projects chosen in the following scientific areas:
- Clean combustion technologies: generation, with fossil fuels, of minimum emissions with maximum efficiency, capture and storage of CO2, etc.
- Renewable energies and new energy sources: biomass, wind, solar, geothermal, biodiesel, hydrogen, nuclear fusion and fission, etc.
- Intelligent Distribution Networks: “advanced” electrical distribution networks: intelligent-safe-efficient, sensor technologies, communications, real-time programmes to manage networks, energy storage, etc.
- Energy Efficiency: management of demand, energy saving, reducing transmission and distribution losses, efficient energy usage, new equipment, etc.
With these NOVARE prizes, ENDESA will fund projects that stand out for their contribution to sustainable energy, technological innovation and social benefits. It will also become involved in the development of the winning projects.
These prizes are open to all and any member of the international scientific community (i.e. any university, research centre, laboratory or academic and/or scientific institution legally represented by a legal entity or group of individuals, public or private, profit or non-profit making) who has developed a new idea or original concept of innovation relating to technologies applied in any of the areas of the energy industry mentioned above.
PROPOSALS can be submitted between 1 April and 31 July 2007 exclusively via ENDESA’s website (http://www.endesa.es/), as per the conditions established in the rules (conditions filed before notary public), and which are available on this website.
